September 19, 2009 - After getting back to Prague, went to Vinohrady for the Burčák Festival, which was pretty much amazing. Although the burčák was more expensive than you’d normally find at a small wine shop (150 kc for 1.5 liters instead of around 90 kc), we all had no problem each buying a bottle for ourselves there and joining in the celebration.
There were food vendors, including ones that sold gingerbread cakes like the one pictured (which translates to “only you,” as my name means “only”), and there was also live music playing on the stage. And after making a pit stop at one of the other dorms, we went to Lucerna Music Bar for their 80’s night to make for an even better night.
Of course, downing 1.5 liters of burčák each, while a lot of fun, also inevitably leads to a complete shitshow. I still have the bruises to prove it since, as one of my friends stated, I “took a few bad falls.” But I’d still call it a pretty epic night.
